Testsolving Page

Here is the page for testsolvers, which will (probably) eventually become the main puzzle page. As I work on the system, this will be updated. Log in as foo:bar.

Wiki Conventions

Some things to keep in mind when adding a puzzle:

  • Please put the answer on a separate page, linked from the bottom of the puzzle page (this allows other people on the wiki to testsolve puzzles).
  • When creating the answer page, write something (anything at all!) in the "summary" box. By default, the recent changes page dispays the beginning of the text on the page; putting text in the summary box prevents that. (The same goes for any edit of an answer page).
  • Please indicate on the main page when your puzzle is ready for testsolving.

We're working on a handout to give out to Hunters here.

Theme

The theme of the Hunt is "Soviet Alice in Wonderland". It'd be awesome if puzzles or their answers were themed appropriately. Runaround and event puzzles should definitely carry this theme.

In the midst of a Wonderland torn by Communist Revolution, the local equivalent of the KGB sends agents on a mission to hunt down the hidden leader of the anti-Communist forces. Clues gathered by field agents and interrogation of captured enemies will bring them ever closer to the mind-scrambling truth...

The puzzle answers are restricted by the metapuzzle; only certain pairs of starting and ending letters are possible. They are:

If you wish to claim a puzzle, create a link to the right of the letters.

Runaround

The hunt will end with an awesome runaround, which should be planned out.

Opening Meeting

The hunt will start with an equally-glorious opening meeting, at which (if we can get him to) Dave will address the crowd, and for which we could see if Alan (if we can get him to) will write the dialogue.

Propaganda

It was suggested that we advertize this even to non-KGB; if we decide to do so (I think we should!), we should probably design posters.

  • Tea mugs, teapot (no actual tea needed) --- ghannema (pot), cmartens (mugs), jordan (mugs)
  • Food -- cmartens will supply
  • Chairs/table -- can be acquired from conference room?

  • Russian hats/fake beards -- Dave has one hat
  • Other Soviet/AiWL costuming you can come up with
